Enabling Technology Platforms
We are dedicated to advancing and translating cutting-edge technological systems like human respiratory tract organoids and transgenic mice models. These platforms are instrumental in unraveling disease mechanisms and assessing the effectiveness of vaccines and therapeutics. By developing respiratory and intestinal organoids, we have achieved significant progress in mimicking human tissue structures, facilitating detailed investigations into viral replication and variant behaviors, notably showcased during the COVID-19 crisis. Furthermore, the establishment of a transgenic mouse model for enterovirus infections, leveraging human tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase as the key entry factor, enables comprehensive studies on enterovirus pathogenesis and the evaluation of potential treatments. These platforms serve as indispensable assets for preclinical research and will undergo further enhancements in the upcoming years to deepen our comprehension of infectious diseases, accelerating the development of innovative therapeutics and vaccines.
