Last December, we had the pleasure of collaborating with the Department of Microbiology at the University of Hong Kong to organize the 2nd symposium on the theme of "Combating Emerging Infectious Diseases." The symposium featured keynote speeches from Professor David Ho of Columbia University and Professor Xiaoning Xu of Imperial College, London, who shared their insights on the latest developments in vaccine and antiviral drug research.

In addition to the keynote speeches, our team leaders and project principal investigators also delivered thought-provoking talks on their specific research areas. The event attracted around 160 participants with fruitful sharing and discussion.

We believe the symposium served as a good opportunity for experts and young researchers in the field of virology and vaccinology to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on combating emerging infectious diseases we face today.
